The Night of Lights paid tribute to the members of the Canadian military who have been killed in conflicts from the 19th to 21st century.
The Field of Crosses represents Calgarians and Southern Albertans killed in the Boer War, World War One, World War Two, the Korean War, peacekeeping missions including those in Cyprus, Somalia, Bosnia, Croatia, Herzegovina, Haiti, and the War in Afghanistan.
Candles were placed in front of the 3,500 crosses erected to commemorate those killed.
The candles, placed by volunteers, dignitaries, and VIPs, burned until sunrise preceding the Remembrance Day service at the site.
